Six copper-traced transit maps hung in a grid on a grey wall beside a yellow CCAM Fest: Fluxus poster. A hand moving across the copper routes of one map. The six maps on the wall, with the festival poster to the left and a Fest: Fluxus sign on the windowsill. The maps wired down to a crate and a laptop on the floor, beside a glass door. Wide view of the corner with the maps, the poster and a crate on the wooden floor.

Six panels, each carrying the transit map of a different city in copper tape: Oslo, Hong Kong, Buenos Aires, New York, London and Moscow. Wired down to a laptop on the floor, each map plays a tone when touched, corresponding to the average frequency of ridership in that city’s system.

The piece treats the subway map as a built object that can be played, turning six cities’ routes into something to touch rather than read.
